first indoor cycle
Sarah showed me how to use the indoor spinning machines today. I have no idea how far I went or how fast I was going, as that information is no where to be found on the machine. But I cycled for 30 solid minutes. It was pretty easy… of course I had it on a super easy tension level… but overall it was enjoyable. I didn’t push myself too hard (though I should/could have done better), it was my first time cycling since like September.
But — I get “being warmed up” now. I got to about 25 mins of cycling before I felt good, like I could “do this forever.” In the past, when I’d read people like Kim write about not really getting into their groove until after “miles 3-4″ of running I would read it thinking “is she nuts?! 4 miles? I’m dead at 2!” But I think I get it… as far as the biking is concerned, anyway.
I also hopped off the bike and ran two short, slow laps around the cardio area. I wanted to see what it would feel like to get off of the bike and immediately begin to run. I almost felt like I was floating — like I hadn’t just exercised for 30 minutes, but better. Pretty cool!
Today was just what I needed — I had a great time and I felt great afterwards. I have been needing a way to get back into the mentality of this training. I had a great time this morning and have been thinking more and more throughout today about joining one of the spinning classes. Maybe I’ll go for it tomorrow AM…. but it seems pretty intimidating!! We’ll see.
I feel good though! I am so glad.

That’s a decent workout! Kudos for getting on the bike - it’s hard to workout indoors. It will make outdoor riding feel like a breath of fresh air! (Literally!)
