Short run with Megan this morning. Today kicks off my official “training” schedule. The plan called for a one mile run today. We went ahead and ran 1.5 simply because that’s the route we run. Also because I know Megan wants to run more than one mile when she gets all bundled up to run outside.
It was a nice morning, not as cold as it has been. We had great conversation. I think that’s what gets me through the runs with her, our growing friendship. Honestly I don’t know what I am going to do when I have to run the last 5k leg of the triathlon without music or someone to talk to. I’ll probably pray the entire way and beg myself not to stop and walk. (sigh)
Anyway — so I’m back in the swing of things. I tried on my wedding dress on Saturday and I have lost weight. It doesn’t feel like it — and no one but the bridal shop owner has noticed, but I guess something is paying off! It’s pretty weird though — I ate like a pig over the holidays, yet I lost weight? Maybe I lost muscle. Hah.
I’m tired and grumpy and basically making myself work out these days. I want to get back into having a desire to work out. I am meeting Christy (Tommy’s sister — triathlon buddy) for a bike ride this afternoon. She got a new bike for Christmas so I knew she’d want to get it out on the roads as soon as possible. The weather is supposed to be low 70’s today, so it should be a nice ride!
I’m nervous, I haven’t biked since about September. We’ll see how it goes!
