I ran the whole way!

I tried another 5k this morning, and I RAN THE WHOLE WAY!!
What kept me going was thinking about how I would be able to come back and post on this blog to say that I RAN THE WHOLE WAY!
I just want to say it again, because I can! I really did run the entire 5k. A week ago I was pumped that I ran two continuous miles. Today I ran 3.1!
I had my music… it was a much flatter course (but still had two big hills — the keys to the hills were looking down at the asphalt so I couldn’t see how much further I had ahead and looking back behind me to tell myself how far I had come)… and I was running alone, so I wasn’t losing valuable air talking to someone.
It really wasn’t even all that torturous. I wanted to quit and walk at about 2.5 mi’s, but I knew that I had come so far and I couldn’t give up at the end!
I want to keep running this distance so I can become comfortable with it. Once I can easily run 3.1 mi’s, I want to start working on my speed.
Man…. on August 11th, 2007 I didn’t think I could run an entire mile and Tommy pushed me. Today I ran 3.1 and I did it all by myself.
I’m so proud of me! I LOVE reaching my goals!
And since I should say something NOT about me on this very exciting weekend: Good luck to everyone tomorrow at the LVHM! I am thinking of youuu!

AWESOME!!! GOOD JOB!!! You Rock!
Wonderful - that’s one ticked off the list. Feel proud, put your feet up, jump for joy, etc!
CONGRATS… AWESOME… WONDERFUL!
I knew you could do it!
Congrats on running the whole race! If you can run that whole course, you can pretty much do any race. the hill up toward the hospital is one of the toughest in any race I’ve done (besides the hill in the park in the Va. 10 miler).
