how is that a run?

Twice now, I have gone into the Y and hopped on the treadmill. I start with a 2 min warm up at about 3.8. then I up it to 5.0 to jog a little. I get about 1/4 mi into the jog and the speed is up to about 5.8. Then… I decide “I didn’t come here to run” and decide to only run for 10 minutes. Then I have my little 2 min cool-down that the machine forces.
So… that’s why my less-than-a-mile “run” is taking me 13 minutes. I just felt like explaining that. It’s more of a warm-up (in the case of last night, I followed it by strength training) or a cool-down (in the case of last week when I hopped out of the pool and “wanted more”).
