a beachy run!

I have no idea how long this took me (the 25 is a guess) — but I can tell you that it helped remind me that running is not so bad. And! I ran for two miles straight…. by myself! Without stopping!
That is a first.

I am at the beach for the weekend… it’s our Annual Beach Trip… the weekend after Thanksgiving. Since this run was so nice, I am going to try and push it to the end of the island tomorrow which would make it a solid 2.5 mi’s. I should be able to do that… I need to just PUSH myself…
I remind myself that people training for marathons don’t run 15 mi’s a day… they run a long run once a week and then regular runs twice a week. So I should definitely be able to finish 2.5 mi’s… no matter how much it hurts! I only have to do it once a week (yeah right, that’s just what I’ll tell myself tomorrow… ha ha).

On to your next adventure. Keep trying to talk yourself up and know that its almost all mental. You can do it - and the more you tell yourself that the more its true!
You have to start somewhere, we all did at one point. Take good days with the bad, and just keep on truckin’. You’re right, one tough day a week… the rest is to get your body used to running as a normal thing.
Rock on! And you are so right, you need to vary your mileage. Once a week push yourself a little farther than you have before. You’ll see some steady progress, I’m sure of it! Wow, I never run on vacation. Too lazy… Nice work!
