So, there’s that.

Tommy told me my butt felt firmer.

I know, I know… not a very appropriate topic. But, it’s all I’ve got right now. He swore he “seriously felt a difference.” So I got excited and hopped on the scale… to learn that I’ve gone up another 2lbs. I’m almost convinced that it’s muscle.

I don’t feel fat or chubby… I don’t feel gross. I mean, my eating habits have GOT to change… But I still think something is happening. My mom says my “shape” looks better. Hmm.

Tommy’s big sister (my sole inspiration for doing the triathlon in the spring) said that her body changed “from the inside out.” And it makes sense. And I want that — I want to be healthier, firmer, and more attractive. But most importantly I want to reach my fitness goals.

I guess I should stop getting on the scale and start looking at the numbers on my watch instead. (Faster miles, longer workouts, etc.)

But… Tommy said my butt felt firmer. So I’ve got that…

On a side note: no pilates last night and no workout today… I’m resting. And I don’t feel guilty about it at all!

  1. AWESOME! Its great to have confidence in your body/self!

  2. I know exactly how you feel. I think if you stay patient it will all work out. I have seriously increased my exercise over the last six weeks, and gained 5 pounds. I was getting frustrated. But in the last two days, they dropped back off. I am betting in the next week or so I will be rewarded with more losses.

    Keep the faith!!!

  3. It does happen from the inside out. I took off 10 lbs this summer because I didn’t want to have to lug them up hills on my bike rides. I put in 700+ miles on my bike and hadn’t dropped a pound (wasn’t trying, but hoping) and then when I changed my eating habits it started to come off.

For me it was no food after dinner and don’t finish the girls uneaten lunch and dinner. My body thought it was starving though - growling tummy at 11:00, going to bed ‘hungry’. I turned it around and thought of a ‘hungry tummy’ like I think of burning quads during that last set of lunges.

  4. Keep going with the positive! :)
