a lone cycle
Workout:
- Type: Cycle
- Date: 09/04/2007
- Time: 07:00:00
- Total Time: 00:34:15.00
- Distance: 6.5 miles
- Average Speed: 11.39 mph
- Max Speed: 19.6 mph
It was my first time riding the new bike.
It was much harder. My speed was down to 8-9mph for a good 5-10 minutes… I was pushing, but it was tough. I felt every bump in the road (obviously unlike the mountain bike I am used to riding).
I did confirm that all those times I thought I was riding for 6 miles, I was actually riding for 6.5 miles. But that’s not enough of a difference to go back and change all the data.
My total time elapsed today was significantly less than the times I have ridden with friends. I’m sure it’s because I was less distracted.
An another note: I revamped my goals and rewards last week. I am going to go in and edit it once more today. I put that my goal this month is to do 2.5hrs of yoga a week. But I am going to take it down to 2. That’s two classes, and if I have to miss one, 1 class and 2 videos. I think that’s a good amount. Plus I plan to pick up the running/biking more regularly now that I can start a good routine.
I’ve got my locker set up at the gym and I finally got a lock for the bike, so I can leave it on my car during the day. Aside from that… I think I may be talking Tommy into doing the sprint tri next spring and he has mentioned that he’d like to start swimming more. Today they started a new schedule for him at work, so he’ll be getting home an hour earlier everyday! I think it’s a perfect time to get in some good swimming workouts.
Things are good… and I am starting to really make this fitness thing a permanent part of my life. I am not waking up dreading a work-out, and that’s REALLY good. Plus! I’m totally sleeping better!

It’s amazing how having a plan and working it leads to a better quality of life. I find that when I just focus on the day to day habits I set for myself, then life seems so much easier and joyful.
Glad to hear things are going so well for you.
