a first good run
Today I started my training plan:
5 min warm-up
60 second jog
90 second walk
Repeat for a total of 20 minutes
I ran at the indoor track here at work, so it was flat and “comfy” ground, also. It was probably the best “run” of my life. The resting periods were SUCH a treat.
And they were super long so it was so much easier to do the jogs. It was a nice walk/jog, where I didn’t quite feel like dying… and I didn’t quite feel like I was slacking, either. My HR was up for a good 25 minutes, and I stretched afterwards, also. I’m pretty excited that it was such a “pleasant” workout.
It’s been really great not having to be at work until 11am… I have been able to get up around 7/8ish and easily make time to exercise. Tomorrow morning I’ve got an 8:30am meeting that really is a good practice session for when I start a normal 8-5 workday next MONDAY! (Meaning, I start my new job! Yipee!) Anyway, I have to figure out a new routine…
I’d really like to bike tomorrow morning, but I can’t use the trail before it’s light outside. I am thinking I can get there around 6:30am… but I have to be back by 7:30am (which gives me about 30 mins of exercise) and will still need to rush to get to my meeting by 8:30am… yikes. Maybe it’ll be a super short ride… but I’d like to make it at least a solid 30 minute ride… we’ll see. I may just throw in a workout video and save the biking for Thur AM.
We didn’t end up camping this weekend… the rain interrupted our plans. Oh well. It was still a good weekend.
I hope you all had great weekends as well!

Thanks for the comment about my race. Glad to hear you had a good running workout. Make sure you have the right shoes, that is how I could run 50 miles and not get a blister!!! Don’t settle for good shoes find the perfect one for you.
Good luck in meeting your weight goal, keeping the weekend cocktails to a minimum can go along way, there are big “empty” calories in those tasty little drinks!
Thats awesome that you have a track at work… hope you have a good time at the new job!
